Centereach- Chris Collora reports on the New York State Path Through History Project.
Recently there was a public meeting on Long Island regarding New York State’s Path Through History innovative which is a 100 thousand dollar State funded Marketing Plan intended to collectively promote Historical tourism sites and spur economic development across New York State. Organizers say heritage tourism generates five billion dollars annually state wide and tourists visiting historical sites spend more time at each site and stay longer in the region when they travel.
Historians and Representatives from Long Island historic sites gathered in Centereach to hear about the proposed plans and give their input. From here the plan will need to go though an approval process before being finalized. For more information you can check out the website http://www.iloveny.com/summer/themes/path-through-history.aspx
